LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION HOSTS IGP EGBETOKUN ON ANNUAL SECURITY SUMMIT, PLEDGES BETTER PROFESSIONAL POLICING AND STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

IGP Egebetokun has reiterated the need for a better strategic partnership between the academic world, the community and the Nigeria Police Force.

The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) is Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye. She was appointed to the position in February 2023 and has since made welcome messages and official statements on behalf of the university. She appreciated everyone who made the event successful during her opening remarks.
IGP Egbetokun made the remarks on insecurity during the 3rd annual security summit of the Lagos State University of Education.

The theme of the summit is “Strengthening the partnership between the town and the gown in the age of insecurity”.

The statement e-signed by Command’s PPRO, SP Abimbola Adebisi, indicated that its establishment “reflects the IGP’s forward-looking agenda to strengthen institutional frameworks and equip police commands nationwide with facilities and skills that meet global policing standards.”

In his remarks, IGP Egbetokun commended the Lagos State Police Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, for its exemplary performance, administrative excellence, and commitment to operational efficiency.
He urged other State commands across the Federation to emulate the CP Lagos State Command’s dedication to innovation, discipline, and infrastructural development, emphasizing that such initiatives are vital to achieving a more responsive and technologically driven Police Force.
